Tangled Textiles Round 1 Recap

We are finished the first round over at Tangled Textiles, and it has been a fabulous start to the journey!  Our first post went up on the blog on April 1, 2011, with our first challenge theme released on April 4.  Beverly started us off with a good one - Games, and set the tone for seven more challenging - at times mind boggling and frustrating - themes.  It was fun and exhilarating and inspiring to see how everyone interpreted the various themes.  To see a mosaic of everyone's interpretations, click on the theme name under the following mosaic of my pieces.

Tangled Textiles - First round themes
Starting in the upper left corner, the themes were:  Games, Celebrate, Tools, Look Up, Balance, Architecture, Green (oops - the Green theme came before Architecture!) and Beginnings
Some of us were experimental with our techniques, and some of us stayed with the tried and true, but I think we all learned a great deal about our likes and dislikes, what methods we prefer to use, colour preferences etc.  It was definitely all that I was hoping it would be, and I am so pleased that we are all continuing!
Beverly will be starting us off with the first theme for round 2 in the next couple of  days.  We will continue in much the same way, although we are hoping to get more interaction happening on the blog - less about the big reveal at the end, more about our process to get there - that means more learning possibilities, and that is always a good thing!

Happy quilting!

I love these challenges - it is always amazing to see the different interpretations of a theme! If you ever want a new member, I'd love to participate in a challenge like this.
