Back at it!

After a two week hiatus with no machine for doing any free motion, I finally have one of them back and I'm back in action!   Yay!

I'll have this project finished by the weekend and can give it back to Krista,  Yay again!

Even though I couldn't do any freemotion quilting, I did get some piecing done - what better time to jump on the Scrappy Trip Around the World bandwagon?  Okay, so mine is not really scrappy, I've used a jelly roll I've had kicking around a while, and I like how it turned out. I wanted it to be a bit bigger without having to make more squares so mine are made with 9 strips ending up 36" square.

1 set of strips
1 block
3 blocks

some straight line quilting using my walking foot 'coz FMQ was out of the question!

This will get finished off by the end of the week as well - only the binding left to do, but I've got to do some freemotion!   wahoo!

Happy quilting!

I was wondering if the strippy quilt would work made from a jelly roll with only a few colours and it does!

I hope you will enjoy some free motion quilting soon!!

::sigh of good-hearted jealousy:: Your feathers are so pretty. I'll keep drawing and drawing and one time it'll finally translate into my machine work. . . ;D

And I love your scrappy trip colors. :)

Janice, I hope your 2 weeks without FMQ weren't too traumatic.

Beautiful feathers, as always, and I love your minimalist scrappy trip quilt!

Thank goodness you've got that machine back--hooray! Glad you are happily (and beautifully) feathering again. I think I've said it before--have you thought about posting an FMQ feathering tutorial?

Those feathers are lovely. Your heart is clearly in the FMQ mode. And sounds like you are so productive!
