I was busy this week, but unfortunately, I can't show you what took up most of my time. Hand applique on a round robin quilt. Took me forever to figure out what I was going to do, and even longer to now applique it. My usual raw edge method just wasn't appropriate this time round. Sorry no peeks as the owner of this quilt just might pop in, and she is not to see it yet! (Hi Brigitte!)
But, yesterday I finally said enough handwork, and setup to practice some FMQ on a donation quilt. Some more practice of the January tutorial for Sew Cal Gal's 2012 Free Motion quilting challenge design - this time the leaves with a swirl, compliments of Frances Moore, done in the border.
Today, I'm off for an afternoon of sewing with my pal's from the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Happy quilting!
Doesn't look like you are doing too badly even with a sluggish mojo. Don't those swirly leaves look effective in the border?
ReplyDeleteI love your border, I saw a fancy heart instead of leaf and I'm going to try using the design in one of my quilts.
ReplyDeleteYour leaves with the swirl inside are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI think there are quite a few of us with a sluggish mojo this time of year.
Your leaves look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to see you and this quilt in person at the sew-in this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteWow! I really love those heart leaves with the swirls! So pretty, and lovely on that quilt.
ReplyDeleteLOVE those spirally leaves! Amazing how adding a small change totally alters the look. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThe spiral in your leaves is just so perfect. Looks like you are getting a lot done even with on again off again mojo.
ReplyDeleteLove, love those swirly leaves!
ReplyDeleteThose leaves look terrific. Gotta practice some more. And oh yeah, I was trying to peek. Come on just one little one, huh?
