Home!

What a wonderful trip we've had!  So hard to believe that the three weeks are now over and it will be back to work on Monday.
Peggy's Cove1
Peggy's Cove Lighthouse
Quilt Canada was great - I will put together a separate post on it.  A wonderful experience and fabulous teachers.  And the talent in the quilt shows - amazing.  Sorry to say, I did not take a lot of pictures during my workshops, and photographs were not allowed in the National Juried show.  Since I didn't have the permission of the quilters in any of the other shows, I did not take any pictures there either.  Since we were travelling, I packed up all my sewing things and mailed them home, just so I wasn't dragging them all around Nova Scotia.  The box has not yet arrived, and I've only got a few pictures of what I did.
Visiting with friends and family, re-visiting places seen many years ago, and discovering all kinds of fabulous new places.  My DH is a "let's see what's down this road" kind of guy, and coming to abrupt stops in the middle of the road as he spotted something picture worthy, was a common experience!  He will be needing to change his driving habits now that we're home again.  (If you want to see some of his fabulous pictures check out his Flickr page)
Here's a sampling of what we did see - we had a mixture of sun and rain but that didn't slow us down at all!  I can see some of these images working their way into future quilts!

Now, it's time to do a little sewing.
Happy quilting!

  3. Oh! I love all your photos so much. Now I'm really homesick for the home of my grandparents. I know the fishing shack could be anywhere and is likely at Peggy's Cove, but by chance were you at the wharf at Hunt's Point??? That's where I spent many a summer. My grandparents owned Hunt's Point Cottages for years and lived in the house at the end of the bay opposite the wharf. Oh, I do hope you were there. It's so beautiful.

It's too bad they don't allow quilt photos at these events :(
