New year new plans?

Maybe not - at least nothing really new!  like every year, I say I'm going to use up my stash and not buy more (last year I added 116 m to my stash and used up 116.25 - see how good I am at this???)  I'm also going to try and finish some of those UFOs I've got hanging around.  Seeing as I've not made much headway working on them myself, I'm going to join in the 2013 Finish-A-Long being hosted by Leanne - she can quilt

Maybe with a little focus, I might manage to get a few of them finished and/or moving along.  We'll see!  This weekend will see me pulling them out from all their hiding spots, photographing them and trying to figure out my plan of attack!

I have done some sewing - the big reason for acquiring that stack of UFOs - in fact I've got two finishes already!  On December 30th I had the inclination to just sew.  I'd started sewing Blueberry Crumb Cake (by Blackbird Designs for Moda) scrapbag strips together a while back, but they'd been put aside.  I decided they were just the mindless sewing I needed!  I finished putting the tops together on New Year's Eve, quilted them New Year's Day and finished the bindings off last night.

The same, but different.  I quilted them up differently, nothing too fancy, but there you go - a couple of preemie donation quilts for my quilt guild meeting next Friday.

Now lets see if I can keep this momentum going for more than a week!

Happy quilting!

  1. Great start on finishing those pesky UFOs. The quilts will be a very special gift for some little one.

  4. I love Blueberry Crumbcake! I made a bunch of projects using fabric from that collection last summer. Those quilts are super cute!

  5. I like the pattern and fabric/colours. It's good to have an easy project for when you don't fancy much else.
