sidetracked!

Okay, so I'm not getting a lot done on my UFOs at the moment, but I am stitching and quilting and having fun!  And that is the key thing - right?!

Yesterday I finally made a start on my Tangled Textiles challenge - Blue is the theme and I had a few things going on trying to get the old mojo flowing.  Lucky for me after looking at various bits and pieces of blue, inspiration did arrive.
some of the blue I was looking at - my indigo dyeing
Once I was happy with the route I'm going to take with that, I started looking at a quilt I'm quilting for a friend.  I pulled out my plexiglass and washable markers and started doodling some possible ideas.

After letting those ideas percolate overnight, I made some decisions and started quilting.  Here's some of where I've gotten to so far.

I'm happy with it so far - what do you think??

Happy quilting!

  5. Your blue pieces look fabulous!

Such a clever idea with the plexiglass! When you’ve decided about the quilting pattern do you draw anything on the fabric, or just quilt? It looks so beautiful!

  9. Fantastic! I always agonise over the quilting design. These days I send most quilts out so that I'm relieved of the decision making process.
