Open!

it's reveal day over at the Tangled Textiles blog.  Our latest theme was "Open" - we could take this in any way we wanted to interpret it - go check them out - as usual some great results!

I'm always intrigued when my progress on something isn't quite what I expected, but when you are open to change your results can be good!  For instance, this piece was intended to be a cherry blossom...

Not quite what the end result turned out to be!

To see and read more about my piece, see here.

So, how about you - are you open to change with your projects?

to see some more finished this week, check out M-R's TGIFF!

Happy quilting!

  1. I LOVE this, Janet! I don't know much about flowers, but that kind of looks like a tulip to me. It doesn't matter though because it's awesome. The quilting you did gives a fabulous texture to the background and the lettering. Love everything about this!

  2. I second the tulip. It's gorgeous and I love how you've reverse quilted the words so they would pop out! The shading is fabulous too! How big is it?

  4. I am always fascinated by the diversity that comes from your challenges. I had wondered whether there was a 'Catherine' influence to this piece - now I know! A lovely piece.

  6. Really beautiful! I don't know if any of my quilts have ended up like I imagined they would at the beginning. I'm always adjusting something it seems.

Open to change? I guess I must be, life seems to be in a constant state of flux these days!

    Love these challenges.
