Common Threads Indigo quilt Project

Last Friday night, February 21, 2014, was the grand reveal for the Common Threads Indigo Quilt project in the Parish Hall at Christ Church Cathedral.

The hall looked amazing - the quilts were wonderful, and huge kudos to Sheila and Thomas for having the vision and energy to pull it off!

There was music, food, blessings and celebrations.  There was a ribbon cutting,

everyone involved circled the hall, the red ribbon went all around, and we all got to cut the ribbon, and save a piece
and even a song to commemorate the event.

Here are a sampling of some of the quilts.  This is a permanent display in the Parish Hall, so the next time you are in downtown Vancouver, BC see if you can't spare a few minutes to go to Christ Church Cathedral, and take a look around.

Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of all the labels, but have added the information that I know, or could make out, and will edit as I get more information.

Have you participated in a community quilt project?  I would love to hear about it!

Happy quilting!

  5. It just killed me to not be there on Friday. Congratulations to you, Thomas and Shiela, and all the other artists.

I will look forward to seeing them all in person; I'll be there as soon as my sister's baby comes and I'll have reason to be in Vancouver!
