a finish or two

I had the happy happenstance of going to a retreat recently with my traditional guild the Blue Mountain Quilters Guild, and managed to make some really good progress on some of my many Q2 FAL projects.  Retreats are always so much fun - getting away and not having to worry about food or sleep or looking after anything but sewing and socializing, being inspired by what others were working on - this one was not a disappointment! Such a good time!

I knew I was going to have a couple of easy and quick finishes, and that was true!  These first two are both donation quilts.  For some reason I have a ton of Vienna Nights fabrics (by 3 Sisters for Moda), and will be using it up in donation quilts.

second finish - Vienna Nights #2

a fun striped and piped binding
After getting these two done, I started working on my two red and white quilts for the bunkbeds at the cabin.  I had a firm idea for one of them, and after a lot of cutting and piecing and cutting and piecing some more, I had one top done.

The second quilt uses the same fabrics, and HSTs.  I had fun playing with some different layouts, and I know I'll be coming back to some of these at a later time,

But, I decided on this one and work is progressing

  1. It must have been hard to choose a single layout. They all look great.
