Ever have one of those days

that was just fabulous???
Today fit that bill!  After a nice leisurely cup of coffee out on the back deck, my DH had a meeting this morning so I got to do some quilting on my wonderful new table - have I mentioned just how much I'm loving this new table???

I did a bit more on this
off the rails

Finished the pebbling in the circle zigzag, and then did an echo variation on the FMQ design that Leah Day showed us for the May Freemotion quilting challenge - kind of funky - but I like it!

Then, this afternoon we headed up to Grouse Mountain, the Peak of Vancouver, to be tourists in our own town.  It was a beautiful day, but hazy, so the view of Vancouver was somewhat obscured, but, can you imagine how this would look on a clear day???

We wanted to check out the Eye of the Wind - you can go up into a working wind turbine - pretty amazing!

This thing was tall!  But even more wonderful views could be had.
Do you have one of these?  Next to impossible to get a normal shot of this guy - always tilting at windmills, he is.

After a wonderful meal at the local pub, I actually got to do some more sewing tonight - I'm really please with how this quilt is coming along.

some practice for the July Freemotion Quilting challenge
All the quilting just went so smoothly - what a treat!  (Did I tell you how much I love my new sewing table????)

I even managed to squeeze in some time to pore over Angela Walters book "Freemotion Quilting with Angela Walters".  I won this book in a giveaway from Angela herself, and boy am I going to get a lot of use out of it!  Several of the designs I stitched out today are from Angela, including that last one shown above, "Tiles" as Angela is the expert for July in the Freemotion Quilting challenge.  Oh it has been a good day!  Hope yours has been just as wonderful!

Happy quilting!

wow, that is some wonderful quilting on that zig zag, love all the different designs. I have a zig zag waiting to be quilted and was going to do something similar, a different design in each one. Love yours.

Glad you love your new sewing table. Your quilting is just stunning. I think that you should be writing a book on FMQ.
Looks like a really wonderful day.
