Welcome to my world where I try to figure out what I'm going to do next! These days, it is mostly quilting, but you never know what it might be... come find out with me!

a little of this and that

The days just seem to be flying by - look it is Sunday again already!  I did make some progress on my handstitching of the bindings from last Sunday, but still working on the row robin's.  Yesterday was a drop in sewing day for Blue Mountain QG - we were a very small group, but it was a productive day for me.  I was working with these
Crayon Challenge
Pretty happy with how it has progressed - in fact I finished it up today!  This is a challenge that our New West Little Group is doing - we selected a crayon and have to use that colour and B&W in a quilted something.

I also worked on this yesterday:
VMQG Kona Modern Quilts fabric challenge
This is a challenge that we're doing at the Vancouver MQG.  We received a .5m of Cynthia Frenette's Kona Modern Quilts for Robert Kaufman fabric and the challenge is to use it in something, not adding any other prints unless they are from the same line, and only using Kona solids with it.  Again, I made great progress and I'm really happy with how it is turning out.  Cynthia was one of the charter members of the VMQG, and designed our great logo (see it over there in my sidebar?). She is also a charter member of the Fraser Valley Modern Quilt Guild.  So fun when I can say I actually know a fabric designer!

Come October, we've got the Blue Mountain Quilters Guild Quilt show coming up.  So when i got home from the dropin I decided to work on some items for the boutique.  I did up a couple of journals

you know those tiny triangles you trim off of connector squares?
I've got 6 more to do - I'm using up some leftover scraps and tiny blocks, and these first two are using some linen I had.  Not sure what direction the rest will take - I do have a lot of scraps to choose from!  I also decided that I would do some zipper pouches so have been getting started on those.  Always a good excuse to practice some FMQ!

I'll be doing some more handstitching tonight.  Hope you've been having a good weekend.

Happy quilting!

Great projects Janet. I didn't realize you had a show coming up. I hope I can attend this year and that my mom will be in town to join me.

I can't wait to see what you've done with Cynthia's fabric!!

I love your black and white prints! Wow, you have so many things comming up! I also love the way you quilted the scallops in the squares. A nice way to finish up quick quilts!
