Progress on UFOs

Even when working on my UFOs, I can't seem to stick with one thing and get it finished!  I've been busy getting my Inchie swap finished
Inchie #2
Working away on some Christmas embroideries that I'll be using on cards, little pictures or gift bags:

Quilting a couple of UFOs that have been around for years!

and
Cranberry Salsa
I'm really happy with my progress, although I wish I could say I had finished something on my list!

While working on the quilting on Cranberry Salsa I have broken 4 or 5 needles!  Most frustrating!  I'm using metallic thread, but I have slowed down, am using Sewer's Aid, have reduced my tension and am using a metalica needle!  Any thoughts anyone?  At this rate I will be changing my plans and not doing all the metallic thread quilting I was thinking of!  Uusally my problem with metallics is thread shredding - not an issue this time.  All said, I am pleased with how it is looking so far, though.

How are you doing with your UFOs?

I know just how you feel. I think I have a case of quilter's ADD. I get started on one thing and then something else catches my attention. Since I joined the UFO challenge, I've added at least 3 new projects to my "I Wanna Do" list and have to quietly remind myself that now is the time to finish, not start!

You 'inchie' is so cute. What's this all about anyway? Love the Christmas embroidery. That looks quite time-consuming, but I bet it's a relaxing way to spend time!

And you got 2 UFOs done? (or started on them, anyway). Way to go!!!

Breaking needles! How frustrating. Can you tell what your needle is hitting, or is it being broken just by the thread tension? Sounds like you're doing everything right, reducing tension, metallica needle. Do you have a straight stitch plate on? Needle is in the centre position? The only other thing I can think of to try would be a topstitch 90/14 needle...most perplexing!! Good luck and if you figure it out, let us know what the problem was. I am getting nowhere on my UFO's unfortunately, still working on gifts.

Your UFO's are beautiful. Love the christmas embroidery too. I like to go from one project to the other but it does take longer to get things finished. I'm working on a plan to start getting some (all) of my UFO's done. Hope I can stick with it!
