Wow! Just one week ago I was off relaxing, laughing, sewing and having fun. The retreat at Loon Lake, hosted by the wonderful Krista / Poppyprint was fabulous. Thank you Krista! It was so nice to see folks from last year and to meet some new people.
There may have been a little bit of this involved
but that only added to the laughter and creativity.
Lots of Christmas-y scrappy trip blocks were made by participants for the block lottery - which, wonderfully, was won by Krista herself - the look on her face when she realized she was the winner was fabulous!
This was my view for a good part of the weekend - wish it was my view everyday, although I may not get much work done if it was!
While I had big plans to get a lot of quilting done, I ran into a few frustrations with thread shredding, so had to change gears a bit. Still had a very productive weekend and got the following done:
I like the 3D affect of this pattern - have always wanted to make one, another thing off my bucket list! |
centre quilting |
border quilting |
hmmm - seem to have missed taking photos of one of the items - fodder for my next post!
It was a wonderful weekend - can't wait to do it again!
Happy quilting!

Very nice quilting!! I am over from Blogathon Canada; and one of tomorrow's hosts...love your blog.
You certainly have been busy, so much done, even with the wine and the view. I love the way that the coloured squares really do seem to float off the surface.
Love all your projects. I can't wait to see some of them tonite at the meeting.

Just dropping by (on the Cdn. Blog Hop) to say Hello from the east coast. I see you were in my neighbourhood this summer- Fredericton NB. Too bad I didn't know you were here- could have taken you to our LQS's. I hope you'll stop by my blog tomorrow. Love your Blog- I'll be back again!
You have been busy! Sure do like that needle case. And the 3D effect on that quilt is amazing.
Really love these colors and so love the good right angles of everything.
Glad to meet our Canadian quilters. Thanks. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com
It really does look like those blocks are floating!
What a fantastic view! Add quilters and fabric and what could be better?
You really got a LOT done. I love the 3D quilt. Whenever I see one I think I must try to do one. Yours really seems to float.
The needlecase is beautiful. I need a pretty one for sure.
Absolutely love your Cotton Coutre quilt. The 3D is so dramatic that it is easily seen in the photo. I can only imagine the effect in person.
Love your three d quilt! Beautiful.
Love the quilting and the floating squares quilt. Nice!

It was such a great weekend! And I love all your projects - especially the MM Cotton Couture 3D one! It is beautiful!
Sounds like a fabulous retreat! Fun projects and I really like that 3D effect.
Wow! You are a busy gal! Love the geometric quilt with the 3D effect. Your feather quilting is sweet, too!
Hi Janet.
I am Pam from the retreat that's always bugging you about how to improve my machine quilting!
This week my husband watched the YouTube video about making a quilting table from styrofoam sheets. He bought a couple of 2 inch pieces to add to the couple 1 1/2 inch pieces he had and hopefully I will have a table soon. It looks like a pretty good system actually. Thanks so much for your advise - and help! I think I may just get the Sew Ezi table one day but this is a good start. I will have to try to update my blog with some pictures with it one day! I will let you know how it works ;)).
Pam.
Love your Cotton Couture challenge quilt! It popped out at me in the group pic too! Great job!
